RESEARCH PROJECTS
Algae-diesel
Our long term sustainability and success requires that we prove the method to grow algae to provide oil to make our biodiesel.
CO2 Capture and Sequestration
We are staging a biomass gasifier to begin the study of CO2 capture and sequestration using algae. Our 7 square mile expansion site is located directly adjacent to a Sierra Pacific coal power plant, and we look forward to partnering in research there to capture the 4,000,000 tons of CO2 and 7,000 tons of NOx the plant emits.
Agriculture
We are already working with Nevada farmers to study oilseed crops that grow in our State. We already planted a spring crop this year, and are already looking at an over winter crop for the fall. After all, biodiesel is agriculture.
Byproducts
Our goal is to be a zero waste company. We are looking for beneficial uses for everything we produce, from glycerine to algae biomass. We have partnered with some diverse industries who can use our byproducts in an environmentally sensitive and responsible way.
Biomass Gasification
A biomass gasifer will provide non-fossil fuel electricity just as our geothermal power production units there do. In addition, we hope to make our own methanol from the unit, making our plant the first liquid fuel plant in the world that does not use any fossil fuels.
